Still the weather...

Yesterday it had stopped to snow in London but the situation hadn't eased up. There were buses - yes - by I have no idea what schedule they used. A lot of underground lines were very much delayed and the airports were all more or less closed and most flights cancelled. It was a little bit disagreeable outside - grey, wet and with a rather strong cold wind which caused black ice. This picture is not somewhere in the country - that is in the middle of London.

I nervertheless at some during the morning started an expedition into town, you can't sit all day long in a hotel room when you are in London. I wanted to visit Tate Britain an art gallery which concentrates on British art. Galery visits are quite exhausting especially when you've had too less sleep for some days already. So I just had a look at those painters I like best - in this case it John Constable who painted very British landscapes and William Turner who more painted light with a little bit of landscape. Of course there are others - some quite famous portrait painters and a painter who seemed to have liked horses very much and all the horses have clipped off tails which looks slightly strange but might be was fashion at this time...

Back in the hotel I warmed up and had lunch. And off I went again to Ally Pally. Visiting a World Championship not really is a restfull holiday, a lot of those involved is looking forward to the Christmas break especially as inside the Ally Pally it is not really comfortable and the press tent is the only warm oasis.

Yesterday action started at six o'clock and what happened on stage looked like this: Now what's this? Is there by now played a team competition as well?.
Not really and what happened only marginally had to do with the World Championship, it was the Ladscup that started today, 16 chosen pub teams will paly till Christmas for the win.

It's an idea of the sponsor and a debut. Every evening from yesterday till the Chirstmas break four teams with four players each will play. Each player of a team has nine darts, all the scores of a team are counted together and the winner will advance. There was no crowd at all in the icecold venue, but it looked everybody had some fun. Russ Bray was the caller and a chalker was up on stage as well. The scores ranged between 180 and seven points - those two extremes were thrown by the same player.

It's not a bad idea but might be some spectators would have been better or perhaps I should have announced somewhere what would happen at six o'clock. I could imagine it would be quite a good attunement for the evening.
The winning team were "We arra people".
